Heart with bandages

Healing the scars on your heart

A couple years ago, someone close to me went through a procedure to correct Afib – Atrial Fibrillation – a form of irregular heartbeat.

To correct this, the surgeon literally goes into the heart and creates scars on the heart tissue to interrupt the wayward electrical pattern that is generating the short circuit that is causing the irregular heartbeat. This creates new pathways for the electrical current of the heart to follow and when all goes well this ends the irregular heartbeat. (Isn’t modern medicine amazing?!?!)

This had me thinking… We’ve all got scars on our hearts. Only most of ours weren’t put there on purpose.

It’s really not a question of whether or not you have scars on your heart. If you’ve made it this far in life, inevitably you have had some degree of pain, heartbreak, trauma or disappointment (or all the above) that has resulted in the scars we most commonly refer to as heartache.

These scars can block the flow of love or like in the Afib procedure, they can redirect and build new pathways for love to flow through.

What do the scars on your heart do? Create a new capacity and flow or block you from receiving love?

When you’ve been scarred by life and love, it takes a more conscious effort to open your heart. Before you can ever open your heart to another, you have to open your heart to yourself.

If you are unable to feel love for yourself, it is unlikely that you will be able to feel True Love for another. (I’ll share more about the awareness I’ve had on the topic of love versus True Love another time.)

Self-love is a vague concept that frankly gets thrown around far too often. For many, it is one of those “can’t get there from here” concepts. Until you know who you are at your core, how do you even know what it is you are supposed to love about yourself!

True self-love isn’t the same as self-care. It’s not about how many massages or manicures you allow yourself. Self-love is about BEing the source of love for yourself such that the love you receive from others is the icing on the cake that is your life.

And until you know exactly how you feel the experience of love, which is different for everyone (and I am not simply talking about Love Languages here!), you won’t know how to provide that for yourself.

Your West Coordinate of your Divine Coordinates® reveals exactly how you express and experience love. This energy is literally the only way that you will ever truly feel love, no matter how much someone showers you with affection or gifts, no matter what they do for you or say to you. If this is missing, you simply aren’t going to feel it, ever.

But, when you know what the energy is that your heart has been longing for all this time, you can experience love, in any moment of your life, all on your own. And It’s a beautiful bonus when your beloved can be a source for that energy as well.
