This doesn’t have to happen
I’ve never been one to follow trends just because and I’ve never once bought a Kate Spade product but I certainly knew who she was.
I was in a conference room full of women last week when we heard the news of Kate Spade taking her own life. We stopped what we were doing and sat in shock of what it meant to get to that point.
How much pain she must have been in.
How she came to determine that this was her only way out of that pain.
How many times she had to choose to continue her course of action.
Some have said, “Why would she do this? she had everything!” That’s the thing. This proves once again that no amount of achievement, acquisition or accomplishment can replace the hole in you where your Soul belongs.
This may be controversial but I believe that until we stop treating anxiety and depression as a medical condition and get honest about the fact that it is a spiritual affliction we will continue to lose precious sensitive souls to the dark.
As a whole we have lost our way. We have been brainwashed into thinking that what we do, who we know – more accurately who knows us! – and how much money we amass is the way to prove our value to ourselves as well as to everyone else.
It is time to stop living externally referenced and start living internally sourced.
It’s time to stop chasing things and start connecting to your Soul.
It’s time to stop being concerned with connecting on social media and make a true connection.
It is only from a deep connection to yourself, the intrinsic eternal part of you, that you can have an authentic connection to spirit.
It is imperative that each of us is actively healing, actively seeking our truth and actively sharing our light with one another.
Then just a matter of days later I woke up to the news of Anthony Bourdain taking his life. This doesn’t have to happen.
One might think that the threshold of unprocessed, unresolved emotional pain within that it takes to reach the point of suicide would have to be exceptionally high but that’s not necessarily the case. Everyone’s threshold is different.
Some of us are ultra sensitive which can mean feeling the pain more intensely so that what may be minor to one is the breaking point for another. It can also be that the ultra sensitivity is carrying a lot of emotional residue that actually belongs to other people but it’s felt in their own body.
As I’ve said before, it is imperative that we learn to feel what we feel, that we not shy away from any experience in the moment. This helps ensure that the energy doesn’t get stuck. This helps eliminate denial and repression which compound accumulated emotion. This is the gateway to freedom.
My West Divine Coordinate is Authenticity whose definition is “expressing emotional congruence.” That means that my biggest lesson personally has been to discern what I am actually feeling and then to express it. Sometimes I can do that in the moment. Oftentimes, I have to take time to really feel something, perhaps write about it, before I’m clear.
The heart is the key to our salvation here. It’s always the direction in the Divine Coordinates that wakes up and starts activating first. That’s not something I decided. It’s something I’ve witnessed countless times now.
We all have a responsibility here.
Heal your heart.
Open your heart.
Share your heart.
The life you save could be your own. It could be mine. It could have been Kate’s or Anthony’s.
Live your Light!
